Featured Series of the Month: The Blood Curse Series

So there’s this phenomenon that occurs amongst my group of friends. Well, perhaps I shouldn’t go that far, because you see, in many ways, that phenomenon is me, and that would just be conceited. For many people, I’m the phone-a-friend. I’m the guy people call to answer various questions to settle arguments and/or bets. You need to know the name of Superman’s uncle? The great-great nephew of the Lone Ranger? How about what K.I.T.T. stands for? Yeah, for some reason I know those things, and it’s resulted in a lot of drunken nights for people as they win shot after shot of alcohol.

So I’ve decided to use my powers for good. Not that intoxication is bad of course, but I’m here to share some things that can and SHOULD be enjoyed sober. Or…at most…with a couple glasses of wine. You see, those that know me well tap into another one of my interests…vampires. Specifically, vampire novels. I’m asked about interesting stories and novels fairly regularly so I’ve decided to spotlight some at least once a month. This month, I want to share my favorite series with you…

…The Blood Curse Series!

“Banished from their homeland in the mountains of Eastern Europe, the descendants of Jaegar and the descendants of Jadon became the Vampyr of legend: roaming the earth, ruling the elements, living on the blood of others, forever bound by an ancient curse. They were brothers of the same species, separated only by degrees of light and shadow.”

In “Blood Destiny” Author Tessa Dawn introduces to the world Nathaniel Silivasi, a descendant of the House of Jadon. He is a powerful and skilled vampire warrior who, along with his brothers, is bound by an ancient curse set upon their ancestors. We not only learn of the curse that lingers over them, we learn of their battle with The Dark Ones, the descendants of Jaegar.

Tessa challenges our traditional thoughts on vampiric legend, adds elements of magic and then wraps them in a two toned veil of light and darkness. From beginning to end the action is non stop. She takes you into a world that is exciting, arousing, and frightening…and in the end all you want is more. Fortunately, she gives it to us in the form of three incredible follow up novels, each featuring another member of the Silivasi family. Underneath the danger and excitement, we learn about and come to appreciate the love and respect that can exist between family. We see the fierce loyalty that exists between these brothers and those of their house and as deadly as these men can be, we root for them. We empathize with them. We feel their pain and we want to join them in their quest for justice and the fulfillment of their covenant.

I have read the first four novels and shared my delight with friends and family. In anticipation of book five, “Blood Redemption”, I want to bring the series back into the spotlight and encourage all lovers of Dark Fantasy and Urban Fantasy to dig into the Blood Curse Series. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

About My PoeticJustus

Look, I'll be honest. These "about me" sections drive me nuts. Basically because I'm awful at self promotion. Ok, not so much awful as, uncertain. I mean, what do I say? How much do I share? Do people really care? Here's what I'll do. I'll share some info and you can just decide what you like and what you don't. Deal? Cool!! So, I am Chicago born writer moonlighting as a mental health professional. Now, my paycheck and bank account would tell you that the opposite is true. But in my heart, I'm a writer. I have a few characters that I am very passionate about and some stories to tell and in between there, I have thoughts to share. Some are serious, some are funny...ok...most are funny. Nothing brings me more joy than stirring up the pot, pointing out hypocrisy, and getting people to think outside the box and challenge their long held beliefs. I don't want to change your mind or your habits...just think of me as the Devil's Advocate. So hey! Sit back, take a read, and feel free to let me know what you think. See ya around cyberspace!!
